Cell Phone Providers Do Not Offer Toll Free

By

It is interesting that cell phone providers are encouraging their customers to use them to replace their landlines, but they have no toll free product.  There is no technical problem terminating toll free on a cell phone, but I haven’t been able to identify any cell phone provider with a toll free service.  As far as I know the cell phone companies already have contracts with landline companies and landline companies have reasonable easy ways to feed billing information, why would the cell companies not offer a service?

  2. Let’s make sure we are referring to the same service. Toll free numbers have always been able to ring into a cell phone, but the actual toll free number was assigned and billed by another provider, not the cell phone providers. Are you saying you have a toll free number that you got from your cell phone provider and your cell phone provider is billing you for the calls? I talked with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile and no of them had a service where you could actually order the toll free service to them, nor could you transfer an existing toll free number to their service.
