A Thought Leader In Toll-Free Number Management Solutions

Can a toll free number have a caller ID (Brand Identity)?

Yes, a toll-free number can have a caller ID associated with it. When a caller dials a toll-free number, the call is routed to the called party’s telephone through the toll-free service provider’s network. The toll-free service provider assigns a caller ID to the call, which is then displayed on the called party’s caller ID display.

However, it is important to note that caller ID can be faked or “spoofed,” meaning that someone can make it appear as though a call is coming from a different phone number than the one the call is actually being made from. This can be done using special software or by manipulating the caller ID information transmitted by the telephone network. As a result, it is possible for a caller ID associated with a toll-free number to be faked or spoofed.
